Heather Hunnicutt, LPC has been providing counseling services since 2015. She opened Evergreen Counseling and Consulting, LLC in early 2020 (prior to that, she worked in the Atlanta area). She offers exclusively telehealth-based individual care for adults aged 18 and up. Via secure platform, Heather provides services virtually for those anywhere in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as Florida and Georgia.
Heather believes we all have strengths from which to draw as we move toward healing. She specializes in trauma healing with a particular emphasis on religious, spiritual, and cultic trauma. She also loves working with the quirks and gifts of high-IQ and high-achieving individuals. Further, Heather enjoys working with other therapists who are coming back to do more of their own healing work.
In addition a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling, Heather holds a Master's Degree in Theological Studies and a Doctorate in Theology. Heather's dissertation is entitled, "The Aporias of Healing: A Theology of Post-Traumatic Becoming." Heather brings a unique ability to discuss spirituality with clients who desire such--and not at all with those who do not!
Along with therapy services, Heather offers parent and therapist consultations in the following areas: special considerations of gifted individuals, reconciling spirituality and sexuality, and healing religious and spiritual trauma.
Heather is fiercely affirming of LGBTQ+ persons as well as those minoritized by race, ethnicity, religion, neurodiversity, and ability, to name a few. She is committed to awareness of, and taking responsibility for, her privilege and works continually to learn more about justice work in the counseling profession and the world-at-large.
